Heavily injury-hit Nostell are not panicking – Dodsworth

Nostell Miners Welfare joint manager Jason Dodsworth

Jason Dodsworth expects heavily injury-hit Nostell Miners Welfare to turn the corner soon after a difficult month.

Nostell have suffered four consecutive defeats, three in Toolstation NCEL Division One and one in the FA Vase.

It has meant they have dropped from a lofty position to tenth. But with three games-in-hand, Dodsworth expects the tide to turn.

“Injuries and unavailable players have halted our good start to the season, but we’re still in a good position,” Dodsworth told Non League Yorkshire.

“We need to remember it is October and we are only nine games in so there’s no panic.

“We’ve had a bad month and a testing time, but that’s down to me and Simon (Houghton) to manage and to be fair to the lads we’ve lost by the odd goal each time.

“Unfortunately lost is the key word in that. We’ve also been let down by a few at the last minute which had us going away to North Ferriby with 12 players. That’s far from ideal.

“We want committed players here and winners and if players can’t give us that then we will move them on. I think we can expect there to be some new players coming in over the coming weeks.”
