A trio of attackers joined Frickley Athletic before the memorable FA Trophy second qualifying round win at Prescot Cables.

Piteu Crouz and Devonte Morton were both involved in the 2-0 win in the North West.

Crouz joins from Yorkshire Amateur while Morton ends his short stint with Pickering Town to sign for Dave Frecklington’s side.

The third man is well-travelled forward Gary King.

King is perhaps best known for playing in the Football League for Lincoln City over a decade ago.

His Non League credits include spells with Harrogate Town, Hinckley United, Boston United, Skegness Town, Brigg Town, Corby Town, Cleethorpes Town and several others.

Suspended King was not involved at Prescot where Brad Wells was the hero with two second half goals.

The forward took on two defenders on the edge of the penalty area before firing into the bottom corner for the opener.

He then scored what some regard as the best goal they have ever seen.

That’s because Wells struck gold with an effort from the halfway line.
