Grandson of Leeds legend joins Scarborough

New Scarborough Athletic signing Jake Charles

The grandson of Leeds United legend John Charles has joined Scarborough Athletic.

Attacker Jake Charles leaves Stafford Rangers to link up with the National North new-boys.

The ex-Welsh youth international has previously been on the books of the likes of Huddersfield Town, Barnsley, Stalybridge Celtic and Farsley Celtic.

Charles told Scarborough’s website: ”I am looking forward to playing closer to home and meeting up again with Bailey and Dylan, who I played with previously at Huddersfield, Barnsley and on trials with other clubs.

“I see Jono regularly in the gym and I am delighted to be at Scarborough next season and challenge myself in the National League North.”

Re-signing for Scarborough are Michael Coulson, Kieran Glynn, but Josh Barrett is departing.
