100 points is the new target for Tadcaster Albion

Tadcaster Albion boss Paul Marshall has set a new target of 100 points in their quest for the NCEL Premier Division title

Forget 93 points we’re aiming for the century.
That’s the message from Paul Marshall as league leaders Tadcaster Albion head into the final five games of their Toolstation NCEL Premier Division campaign.
Marshall takes his team to his former club Bridlington Town tomorrow and he has revised his original target and believes his side are capable of achieving it.
Marshall hopes the total will be enough to win promotion and says that after watching his team demolish Pickering Town last Saturday that they can win all five matches.
“We are out to win every game until the end of the season to get 100 points,” he said.
“If we lose the league with 100 points, so be it. It would be a nice target to achieve.
“The way we are playing, we are good enough to beat anybody.
“The squad is strong and when you have the likes of Terry Taylor, Rich Batley, Pete Lawrie, Danny Critchlow and Ash Hope on the bench (like last Saturday), you realise how strong you are.
“We have some quality.
“I said our target was 93 before but the way they playing, I can see us winning every game.”
Brighouse Town and Barton Town Old Boys remain on their tail.
Brighouse can go four points clear of Albion if they win their four games in hand, whilst Barton need Taddy to slip up to overtake them.
Tadcaster and Barton also meet on April 19th and Marshall admits it will have a huge bearing on the final reckoning.
He added: “I think the Barton game will be pivotal because of the way they have been going. They were unbeaten in 22 games before last Saturday, just like we did (earlier in the season).
“It would be hard luck on them or us not to win a league when you go that many games unbeaten.”
