Ashington 3-3 Scarborough Athletic

Scarborough’s FA Cup adventure continues to be dramatic as Jimmy Beadle’s 93rd minute penalty earned them a home replay on Tuesday night.
Scarborough, whose Preliminary Round tie finished with a penalty shootout in the replay, fell behind initially before Beadle levelled the scores.
Ashington then scored again and the North East side were heading through until a handball enabled Beadle to rescue his team.

Scarborough Athletic: White, Robson, Burton, Huddleton, Foot, Beadle, Thewlis, Bolder, Blott, Bradshaw, Bennett. Subs: Davidson, Williams, Plummer, Chambers, Ghaichem.

Brighouse Town 1-2 Ashton United

There was heartbreak for Brighouse as Ashley Young controversially struck the winner four minutes into injury-time to knock Paul Quinn’s men out of the Cup.
Brighouse had taken the lead. Tom Brown’s through pass sent Ryan Hall away and the winner confidently scored.
Mathew Chadwick slotted home the equaliser before Young sent Ashton into raptures as the tie seemed to be heading for a replay.
Brighouse’s unused substitute Martin Allison was even sent off for his reaction to the goal that Brighouse claimed was disputable.

Brighouse Town: Giles, Brown, Field, Thornton, Gay, Melling (Price 80), Hurtley, Clarke-Adams (Baldwin 17), Hall, Frankland, Henry. Subs unused: Bower, Wallace, Allison, Quinn.

Harrogate Railway 3-1 Clitheroe

The FA Cup dream goes on for Harrogate Railway as Billy Miller’s men beat Clitheroe for the second time in five days.
A shot from 18 yards by Russ Clarke put Clitheroe in front, but Railway quickly levelled the game when Rob Youhill crossed for Lamin Colley to score at the back post.
The tide turned towards Railway straight after half-time. Clitheroe captain Steven Mercer was dismissed for an elbow on Colley.
Almost instantly, Fatlum Ibrahimi’s cross found the net. Within a few minutes, Nathan Cartman had scored to secure their passage.

Harrogate Railway: Dean, Hunter, Kidd, Morris, Coates, Mycoe (captain), Ibrahimi, Metcalfe, Cartman, Colley, Youhill. Subs: Bromley, Sharrocks, Coupland.

Marine 2-1 Ossett Town

Struggling Marine avoided a potential banana-skin by over-coming John Reed’s Ossett.
Ossett went to Marine “full of confidence”, but it was knocked by the early withdrawal of Richard Patterson due to a hamstring problem.
Andy Fowler shot through a crowd of players for Marine’s opening goal.
Rob Bordman helped Ossett equalise with a cut back which allowed James Davies to equalise.
Lewis Codling then fired home for Marine before Ossett had Calum Hepworth sent off for a second bookable offence.
Ossett had chances to secure a replay, but, ultimately Marine held-on.

Ossett Town: Brad Dixon, Calum Hepworth, Steven Jeff (c), Nick Wood, Niall Heaton, Ross Armstrong, Nathan Curtis (Caution, 50), Richard Patterson (James Davies 12), Rob Bordman (Josh Whiteley, 83), Chris Wood (Joe O’Neill, 73), Dave Merris. Subs unused: Lewis Akeister, Aaron Jones, Jack Bentley.

Ossett Albion 0-4 Droylsden

For the first 15 minutes or so the game flowed from end to end with both sides mounting attacks without any end result. Then Droylsden began to exert pressure on the Albion defence. Their play was quick and their passes were accurate and they played with width which stretched the home side.
The visitors made their superior play pay in the 26th minute when an attack down the left, and a hard, low cross found Stephen Hall in the centre who provided the finish to give Droylsden the lead.
Their second goal came just 5 minutes later. This time it was an attack down the right which caught Albion out. Again it was a hard, low cross into the centre and this time it was Ben Deegan who applied the finishing touch.
The lead could have been greater if not for Adam Rhodes in the Albion goal. A weaving run from Fernando Moke found him in on goal but the Albion goalkeeper did well to save the shot. From the resulting corner the ball was loose in the Albion box and the home side were saved by the cross-bar. So the visitors went in with a 2 goal lead at the interval.
Within a minute of the restart, Droylsden had wrapped up the match. They attacked down the right and when the cross came in the Albion defender missed clearing it and left Ciaran Kilheeny with a simple finish for Droylsden third goal.
After that Droylsden seemed to ease off a little but they kept up their quick movement and continued to play with width. Albion never gave up but were unable to match the speed of passing and accuracy of the Droylsden players.
Adam Rhodes made several more good saves to keep the scoreline respectable but in the 88th minute he was beaten again. He did well to save a shot on goal but the rebound went straight to Ciaran Kilheeny who tapped the ball into the net for his second and Droylsden’s fourth goal.

Ossett Albion : A.Rhodes, S.Nicholson, R.Hardaker, H.Owen, W.Milnes, D.Lucas, M.Thompson (D.Bartle), B.Grech-Brooksbank (M.Nelson), C.Brunt, D.Kelly (D.Brown), A.Muller. Subs not used : K.Noble, J.Rothel, R.Tracey, N.Bennett.
