FA Cup heroes Warrington Town deserved to win at Ossett Albion, but the 3-0 scoreline flattered Shaun Reid’s men.
Warrington started quickly in the Evo Stik Division One North encounter and played with purpose but solid defending from Albion kept them at bay for the first quarter of an hour.
Then a long ball out of defence found a Warrington player on the right who put in a good cross leaving Lee Gaskell with a simple tap-in for the opening goal.
A couple of minutes later the visitors attacked down the left and a hard, low ball flashed right across the Albion goal without anyone managing to get a touch on it.
The ball was returned from the right and Brett Souter in the Albion goal needed to make a good save.
Albion responded well after going behind and had several half-chances of their own without managing to draw level before the interval.
Warrington again were quick off the mark at the start of the second half and in their first attack they hit the post of the Albion goal.
The game developed into a long ball game going from end to end for a while, but then Warrington began to build up the pressure on the Albion defence.
In the 73rd minute a corner from the right was met at the near post by Tom Hardwick whose glancing header doubled the lead for the visitors.
Albion still felt they could get something out of this match and made attacking substitutions.
Unfortunately these were to no avail and Warrington added a third goal when a poor back-pass put the Albion goalkeeper in trouble.
His clearance fell to a Warrington player who put the ball back into the centre and Louis Corrigan fired it into the goal.
