Shaw Lane Aquaforce will break further new ground tomorrow afternoon with their debut in the Emirates FA Cup.

The Evo Stik Division One South side visit North West Counties outfit Alsager Town to compete in the competition for the first ever time since their formation.

Speaking ahead of the historic Preliminary Round tie, Craig Elliott said: “It is another milestone and we’re hoping to do well in the Cup.

“I know for a fact that everyone at the club has been looking forward to our first FA Cup game for a number of years. There is something special about being in the competition.

“I also think that people forget that we’re a new club with a short history so the FA Cup could potentially put us further on the map and make more people aware of us.

“However, before we can start thinking about progressing far in the competition we have a tough game at Alsager.

“We were far from our best at Lincoln on Tuesday so we need make sure we bounce back.”
