Mark Greaves and assistant Hayden Lobley have been relieved of their duties at Eccleshill United.

Head of coaching and former Liversedge boss Sean Regan has taken over the running of the team on a permanent basis.

Greaves and Lobley were axed on Tuesday morning, despite a really positive start to the Toolstation NCEL Division One season.

The pair inherited just two players – Jermaine Springer and Joe Stead – after taking the helm back in May when Eccleshill ended their relationship with RIASA.

Greaves and Lobley have said they are shocked and disappointed by the decision having built up the team from scratch. They added they had done better than what has been asked of them.

Regan has a very sound footing to build on as Greaves and Lobley have left them in a comfortable mid-table position.

Regan’s first game in charge is the trip to Hall Road Rangers on Saturday.
