Ian Shirt has been appointed as the permanent first team manager of Worsbrough Bridge.

Shirt stood in on an interim basis after the March departure of Mark Joyce and successfully ensured that Bridge finished the season. Shirt goes back a long way with Worsbrough and has previously assisted former bosses Chris Hilton and Mick Norbury at Park Road.

The club said: “Het is seen as an excellent appointment for Worsbrough Bridge as his methods, contacts, vision, passion and enthusiasm are the perfect fit for the club.

“The club are delighted that Ian has agreed to take the role on a permanent basis and are looking forward to the new season. We would like to thank everyone that showed an interest in the role and wish them well for the future.”

Worsbrough are announcing who will be assisting Shirt at a later date.
