Shaw Lane Aquaforce defender Matt Dempsey has decided to join his old defensive partner Darren Kelly at Hyde United.

Dempsey played with new Hyde boss Kelly at Garforth Town during the 2011-12 season when Steve Nichol led the Miners to the highest finish in the club’s history.

Dempsey only joined Shaw Lane a few months ago, but he will be remembered for his penalty save in the 1-0 win over Carlton Town in April. He was between the sticks as Tom Morgan was suspended.

Prior to arriving at Shaw Lane, he has played for Bradford (Park Avenue), Farsley Celtic and Thackley.
