Scarborough Athletic have announced their first set of retained players as they prepare to return to their hometown.

Agreeing terms for their first season back home so far are captain Dave Merris and fellow defender Matty Turnbull plus midfielders James Cadman and Jamie Price. Experienced defender Dominic Roma has left the Seadogs.

Kittrick said: “I think it’s important that we retain the players we want from last season, there’s a few on holiday at the moment, but they’ve all been invited back. We’ll sit down with the lads over the next few weeks and hope to agree terms with them.

“I’m also speaking to four or five other players about joining us, but it’s a merry-go-round now just like last season.

“It’s good to get some of the lads in place early, but it’ll settle down over the next few weeks as we get organised for next year.”

The players and management involved took the chance to have a look around the new Scarborough Sports Village, with Kittrick impressed with the state of the art base.

He added: “It’s fantastic. Once the place gets rocking and rolling we’ll see smiles on people’s faces who’ve been Scarborough fans from day one. It’s massive for the club to bring a different atmosphere on match days, together with an excellent playing surface and the facilities that go with it, you can’t ask for much more.”
