Shaw Lane give Mansfield a game

Emirates FA Cup

Shaw Lane AFC 1-3 Mansfield Town

The Emirates FA Cup

Barnsley lad Danny Rose broke Shaw Lane AFC hearts with two late goals to spare Mansfield Town’s blushes in front of the BT Sport cameras.

Nearly 2000 fans packed into Sheerien Park for Shaw Lane’s prestigious First Round tie and the underdogs gave absolutely everything.

Mansfield, managed by former Leeds United manager Steve Evans, took the lead through Krystian Pearce’s free kick.

The Ducks managed to cancel that out before half-time as Lee Bennett netted from close range.

Bennett then hit the woodwork in a separate chance.

The second half had drama. Shaw Lane goalkeeper Jon Stewart saved a penalty from Jacob Mellis, a former Barnsley player, before Rose had the last word.
