Regan Fish was the hero for Liversedge at Hall Road

Regan Fish was the hero for Liversedge, who celebrated a memorable midweek away victory at in-form Hall Road Rangers.

Liversedge fell behind to Josh Batty’s second minute opener for Hall Road, but they showed great character to respond.

Star striker Joe Walton levelled the scores before half-time. Sedge were awarded a penalty in the second half, but Brad Riley’s effort was saved by James Hitchcock.

That meant it was left to Fish to hit the winner late-on after his initial effort was saved.

The game ended on a sour note for Batty as he was sent off for the second time this season after committing a rash challenge.

Pontefract Collieries comfortably won 3-1 at out-of-form Bridlington Town in the re-arranged fixture.

It was 0-0 at the break, but Brid were reduced to ten men as Brett Agnew was sent off following a bust-up.

Mikey Dunn (2) and veteran Luke Jeffs led Ponte to victory. Joel Sutton’s fine goal in the dying embers was a mere consolation for Brid.
