Selby return for Freer

Brad’s Back: Brad Freer has rejoined Selby Town after nearly three years away

Christian Fox has finally managed to persuade playmaker Brad Freer to return to Selby Town.

Freer was part of Fox’s original gang when he became Selby manager in the summer of 2017.

At the time there were pre-season fears of a season of struggle, but Freer was a key player during their brilliant start to the 2017/18 campaign which quickly dispelled those concerns.

Freer, who has also played for Barton Town, was scoring goals, providing assists and his form attracted the attention of higher league Pickering Town who snapped him in the October 2017. He spent a good deal of time with the Pikes and he helped them get promoted in 2018 with fellow Selby summer signing George Bissett.

Fox has tried several times to lure him back to Selby without success until this summer.

Alongside Bissett and Freer, Fox has also signed Garforth Town legend Mark Simpson.
