Musselwhite joins Rouse revolution at Ponte

Ryan Musselwhite is heading back to Pontefract Collieries

Goalkeeper Ryan Musselwhite is heading back to Pontefract Collieries when restrictions are lifted.

Some of the band are clearly getting back together as he is fifth man to return to Beechnut Lane since Craig Rouse was unveiled as the club’s new manager.

Assistants Andy Seed and Jimmy Williams, plus striker Eli Hey and attacker Kane Reece are the other four.

Musselwhite was Ponte’s goalkeeper during the 2018 Toolstation NCEL Premier Division title-winning campaign and the inaugural NPL season.

He spent this season with Bottesford Town and Cleethorpes Town and he replaces Mikey Emery who was the club captain under Andy Monkhouse.

Although null and void is increasingly likely, Rouse is making sure he has a squad available if the campaign is resurrected.

But all those committing are part of his plans if the return of Non League football has to wait until August.
