NLY Community Sport to run Boccia club

NLY Community Sport coaches Connor Rollinson and James Grayson

NLY Community Sport is delighted to announce that our Friday 5pm until 6pm Multi-Sports Hour at Crofton Community Centre will now be known as our Adapted Boccia Club.

Boccia was among the top sports for participation numbers at the National Special Olympics games in Sheffield in August.

We believe our adapted version of Boccia serves as a great introduction to the game, which can be played by anyone, regardless of age or ability level.

Connor Rollinson said: “The lads who have been coming have really enjoyed playing Boccia so converting the Multi-Sports Hour into a club for solely playing Boccia seems like the right decision.

“We have had some really competitive games in the last few weeks.

“We’ll playing our adapted version of it, but we’ll be looking to play the official version as soon as possible.

“One of the other reasons behind why we have made the decision to rebrand the Multi-Sports Hour is because of how inclusive Boccia is. Anyone is welcome

“As we have always said, the social aspect of our sessions is integral to NLY Community Sport’s philosophy and Boccia is a sport that is great to play from a socialising and confidence perspective.

“We’re looking forward to seeing how things evolve in the coming months.”
