Hull United have added two new additions for their inaugural season in the Toolstation NCEL Division One next season.

The Citizens have signed Phil Dobson from Humber Premier League champions Sculcoates Amateurs and Tom Bennett from divisional rivals Selby Town.

Dobson, 38, previously played for Bridlington Town in the NCEL Premier Divison and was instrumental in guiding Sculcoates to the Humber Premier League title last season.

Former Hull City youngster Bennett, 23, gives the Citizens a presence in midfield and his experience in the division could prove essential for the club.

Chairman Ian Ashbee has already admitted he wants a Hull-born XI and promotion next season, and this pair are locally-born and have experience at this level.

Meanwhile, last season’s Supporters Player of the Year Jamie Taylor has re-joined the club.

Taylor, 24, played in the East Riding Senior Cup defeat to Bridlington Town but decided to leave at the end of the season.

Yesterday he decided to return to the club and was welcomed with open arms, after some virtuoso performances last season.

He previously played for Cottingham Forest in the Divison Two Wyke, but proved last season he is more than competent at this level.

The Citizens kick-off their pre-season fixture list away to NCEL Premier Divison outfit Retford next Tuesday, and all three players could feature.
