Alex Byrne ensured Shaw Lane AFC walked away from Rushden with a good and deserved point.
The draw also preserved the Ducks’ unbeaten league record.
New signing Rob Bordman went close early on, but Rushden went in front after a period of pressure through a Liam Dolman header.
Lane then had shots, corners, crosses cleared as they mounted pressure onto their hosts. Eventually it told when Byrne was there to head home Oscar Radford’s dangerous cross from the left-wing.
There was a nail-biting finish as Dolman had a goal disallowed in the final few seconds.
