Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup

Penistone Church scored their winning in the 118th minute for the second week running.
Scott Whittington was the hero this week as his scrambled goal earned Penistone a 2-1 victory over Hallam in the quarter-finals tie.
It was a dramatic ending to a clash that could have gone either way. Hallam had the best first half chances and deservedly led at the break.
That was given to them by Matty Ord’s spectacular angled shot curled into the far left-bottom corner from distance on the stroke of half-time.
Hallam will regret not taking their opportunities as veteran Andy Ring equalised seven minutes into the second half breaching the visitors’ back-line.
Chances at both ends, controversy when Penistone had a goal chalked off, all followed as the game headed into extra-time.
Ultimately Whittington sparked euphoric scenes.
Lewis Bemrose helped lead Maltby Main to a 3-2 victory over Staveley Miners Welfare in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division.
Ryan Carroll also hit the target.
