Non League Yorkshire Team of the Decade

It has taken some deliberation, but we have finally have a Non League Yorkshire Team of the Decade, as well as manager.

The Team is made up of players who we believe have consistently excelled in the Northern Premier League and Northern Counties East League whilst playing for Yorkshire clubs between 2010 and 2019.

Team of the Decade 

Manager: Craig Elliott (Glasshoughton Welfare, Ossett Town, Shaw Lane AFC. Now in charge of Boston United)

Craig Elliott performed miracles at Glasshoughton Welfare and Ossett Town before winning three promotions with Shaw Lane and one Sheffield Senior Cup. He also took them to the FA Cup First Round proper.

Goalkeeper 

Tom Taylor (Farsley Celtic, Ossett Town, Brighouse Town, Scarborough Athletic)

Right Back 

Andy Milne (Ossett Town, Scarborough Athletic, Tadcaster Albion)

Centre Backs

Paddy Miller (Yorkshire Amateur, Scarborough Athletic, Farsley Celtic, Tadcaster Albion)

Now retired defender Paddy Miller played for a handful of clubs during the decade, but had great success. Outside of Yorkshire he had one great season at Hyde United

Ryan Qualter (Tadcaster Albion, Ossett Town, Bradford Park Avenue, Shaw Lane)

Ryan Qualter was captain for a number of his clubs

Left Back

Ryan Serrant (Farsley Celtic, Shaw Lane, Yorkshire Amateur)

Ryan Serrant served Farsley Celtic with distinction for almost ten years before spells with Shaw Lane and his current side Shaw Lane

Midfielders 

Harrison Biggins (Stocksbridge Park Steels)

Strikers 

James Walshaw (Farsley Celtic, Shaw Lane, Scarborough Athletic)

James Walshaw scored 50 goals for Farsley Celtic during the 2016/17 season

Adam Priestley (Garforth Town, Farsley Celtic, Ossett Albion, Ossett United, Yorkshire Amateur)

Adam Priestley has played lots of times for Gibraltar during the decade, playing against various top International players

Ash Flynn (Emley, Frickley Athletic, Shaw Lane, Yorkshire Amateur)

Ash Flynn has scored over 300 goals in seven years, including 73 in one season for Emley under Darren Hepworth
