Former Glasshoughton Welfare chief Rob Hunter is the new assistant manager of promotion-chasing Toolstation NCEL Division One side Knaresborough Town.
Hunter has been out of the game since resigning from Glasshoughton, who are set to appoint his permanent successor this week, in March straight after the 2-0 defeat to Parkgate.
Harrogate-based Hunter was in charge of Glasshoughton for just over a year and he replaces Paul Stansfield as Brian Davey’s assistant.
Stansfield stepped down after the dramatic penalty shootout victory in the League Cup final against Eccleshill United earlier this month.
Hunter is a perfect replacement with his encyclopaedic knowledge of Harrogate-based players and he also has the pedigree of winning the Division One title which he won during his time as assistant to Paul Marshall at Tadcaster Albion in 2010.
Davey admitted in the aftermath of the League Cup win that he wanted to mount a promotion push next season.
A Knaresborough statement said: “Brian has confirmed that after Paul stepped down, he has had time to reflect on the season and looked to strengthen his management team and believes that Rob will bring his expertise to the club.”
