The future of Wakefield FC looks set to be resolved this week after a sensational statement from AFC Emley.
Wakefield’s ability to play in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division has been in serious doubt since the club failed to turn up at the League AGM in Scarborough eight days ago.
AFC Emley claim that Wakefield have told the NCEL and FA that they are folding – a move that will leave the Division with an odd number of teams for the second year running.
Emley also say that Wakefield’s demise will leave them with a financial problem.
