Billy Miller is adamant that his Harrogate Railway side won’t sit back and defend for a draw at league giants Darlington 1883 tomorrow night.
Railway will head to the North East for the Evo Stik Division One North clash four days on from their narrow 3-2 at Colwyn Bay in the FA Cup second qualifying round tie.
Miller hopes his side take the experience from the cup defeat into the league and he said: “I think what we have to do is take the form into the league, if nothing else.
“We have worked out a way of playing which is working for us.
“We have some good players coming back into the side like Malachi (Farquarson) will soften the blow if Lammy (Lamin Colley) moves on.
“He’s technically good at holding the ball up. There is Adam Baker to come back as well.
“We also have Jon Maloney, Simon Wood and Simon Parkes out so go to Colwyn Bay with all those players out we have to take that form into tomorrow’s game.”
He added: “Darlington will be just as tough.
“You go up there and and there is a lot of people into the ground and it is a night match so it doesn’t get any better. It is why you want to be involved in football.
“We’ll look forward to it and we’ll try and give a good account of ourselves.
“Playing Darlington will be as equally hard or harder than last season.
“They have a great side. Last season we went there and got a 0-0 draw, but my god, did we work hard for it.
“It was just one of those days where we frustrated them and I think this year we are probably a bit better.
“We will go up there and try and play which means we might be exposed at times so it will be a more open game than last year – certainly from our perspective.
“We’re expecting the hardest game of the season so far tomorrow night.”
