Nostell Miners Welfare manager Darren Holmes is facing a stadium ban after being charged with violent conduct by the Sheffield & Hallamshire FA.
Holmes, who is pleading guilty, has until Thursday to respond to the charge which relates to a serious incident during Nostell’s 5-0 defeat at Handsworth Parramore last month.
The Sheffield & Hallamshire FA disciplinary committee will then decide the punishment at their next meeting.
Holmes is the only person in trouble over the incident which, according to the referee’s report, sparked a “melee”.
The Nostell chief has been told to expect a stadium ban of between three to five games which will leave his assistant Alan Semley in match-day charge of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division bottom-placed side.
Holmes told Non League Yorkshire: “I’ve apologised to the club and the players and it certainly won’t happen again.
“I’m disappointed with myself because I should have walked away from the situation.
“It has never happened before and it will never happen again.
“I am a little disappointed with the referee’s report that he hasn’t mentioned the incidents which happened after the initial incidents.
“The situation is not good for the club, but we have people who help on a match-day.
“I’ll be taking training just the same as normal with Alan taking charge on a match-day.
“We have a contingency plan which may allow me to look at some players.”
Holmes is not the first Yorkshire Non League League football manager to receive such a ban.
Then-Wakefield boss Paul Lines was slapped with a six-match stadium ban following a ding-dong with referee Adam Burgess after a Evo Stik Division One North fixture last year.
