Paul Quinn admits it would be nice for Brighouse Town to win the West Riding County Cup

He’s technically won it before so Brighouse Town manager Paul Quinn admits it would be nice to win the West Riding County Cup for a second time.
Quinn was sat in the dugout for 1999 County Cup final and saw his dad Gerry’s Ossett Albion stun higher-league Bradford (Park Avenue) to lift the trophy.
Evo Stik Division One North side Brighouse will head to Silsden for the second round tie tomorrow and Quinn told Non League Yorkshire: “It would be brilliant if we went to Valley Parade and won the trophy.
“Realistically, are we are going to win the league this year? Doubtful.
“We are going to try and finish as high as we can. We want to keep winning things.
“We know what winning the league meant to us last year and if we can pick up some silverware in this competition, we’re going to try and get as far as we can.
“You look at Eccleshill last year, nobody would have fancied them to win it.
“They beat us away from home.
“We know we can get far in the competition. You may come up against a Guiseley or Park Avenue and they may not have a strong side out.
“Halifax have never played a full-strength side.”

Quinn snr only managed Albion for one season, but he made sure it was a memorable campaign.
Albion also won the NCEL Premier Division title that year – only to be denied promotion because ground-grading reasons.
Their great rivals Ossett Town were promoted instead.
Albion beat Trevor Storton’s Avenue with second half goals from Shaun Joyce and Chris Cornelly.
Albion had goalkeeper Jon Hood to thank for a series of excellent saves and Quinn added: “I remember that it was a great season for Ossett.
“It’s been a good experience to have being part of that when they won the title.
“I remember the Sheffield & Hallamshire cup more because my dad reached a lot of finals at Hillsborough.”
The referee for Brighouse’s trip to Silsden is Jimmy Price.
