Chris Fisher’s last gasp header pushed Brighouse Town further up the Evo Stik Division One North table as Paul Quinn’s men beat Ossett Town 2-1.

The victory ensured that Brighouse, who had James Hurtley sent off, finished November unbeaten alongside four straight wins.

In a physical encounter, Brighouse took an early lead with Ernest Boafo tucking away a low-struck free kick past Town goalkeeper Brad Dixon.

Ossett were trying to shed memories of the 4-0 humbling to Harrogate Railway last week, but their cause wasn’t helped by two injuries in the first half.

A pulled groin forced Danny Chambers off and then a strong challenged from Leon Henry took Chris Ovington out of the game.

Ossett took the game to Brighouse in the second half and were rewarded with the equaliser.

Chris Wood fired Ossett level from the penalty spot.

Brighouse were then lucky to avoid having a man sent off. Tempers boiled over as Hurtley appeared to grab Ryan Williams by the throat.

A yellow card followed, but Ossett weren’t impressed as Sam Akeroyd was dismissed for the same offence last week.

Brighouse came strong for the final throes and Hurtley played a role as header was met by a leaping Fisher, who found the top corner.

There was still time for more drama as Hurtley was shown his second yellow card for a foul on Wood.
