Williams stands down as Retford boss

Crisis club Retford United’s season took another turn for the worse with the 11-0 hammering at Bridlington Town last night.

Retford could only name ten players and interim manager Richard Williams resigned after the game, citing other commitments.

He will remain as their secretary and youth development officer.

Retford hope to name a new permanent manager as soon as possible.

Williams took control of Retford after the sacking of Paul Ward and then Russ Eagle’s decision not to take the job.

He signed over ten new players, but their problems continue.
