Ossett Town gave their home supporters a great send-off with a 2-0 win over Droylsden in the Evo Stik Division One North.

Ross Armstrong and Nathan Curtis ensured Ossett continued their positive second half of the season which has ultimately kept them afloat.

Ossett were in clear relegation danger at Christmas, but an excellent run since then has steered them to safety.

The visit of Droylsden was heading for a goal-less stalemate until midfielder Ross Armstrong lit the game up with one of the goals of the season.

In acres of space 35 yards from goal, Armstrong spotted Droylsden goalkeeper Craig Ellison off-the-line. The youngster went for it and with the help of the crossbar, found the net.

Ellison was then at fault for the second goal after misjudging a long ball. Curtis raced in and scored into the empty net to round off the victory.
