Ossett Albion pulled off a brilliant 3-0 win at Doodson Sports Cup finalists Warrington in their penultimate Evo Stik Division One North game of the season.

Warrington started the better of the two sides and dominated proceedings for the first 20 minutes going close on a couple of occasions.

After weathering this early storm though Albion gained in confidence and began to create chances of their own.

It was no surprise that they took the lead on 35 minutes when Adam Muller completed a superb passing move involving no less than five Albion players.

Albion were well on top for the remainder of the half but had to change things around just before the break when Kyle Harrison had to be replaced by Dominic Riordan due to injury.

The second half was an entertaining affair with Albion again having the better of the chances.

They doubled their lead on 74 minutes when Connor Brunt rose above all the Warrington defenders to head in Luke Sharry’s inch perfect cross.

Warrington had a chance to get themselves back in the game on 80 minutes when they were awarded a penalty. The normally deadly Scott Metcalf however put the ball wide of the target.

Albion secured all 3 points minutes before the final whistle when Nicky Matthews stabbed home a loose ball from just outside the 6-yard box.

All in all it was an excellent performance from a young Ossett Albion side securing their highest League finish for a number of years.
