Staveley chairman Terry Damms welcomes Brett Marhall (right) to the club
Brett Marshall has been confirmed as the new Staveley Miners Welfare manager.
Marshall replaces Jas Colliver, who left by mutual consent with four games remaining in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division season.
Former Harrogate Town and Retford United manager Paul Ward is Marshall’s assistant.
Marshall led Retford to the Premier Division title in 2012 and he returns to management after a two-year spell as chairman of Toolstation NCEL Division One champions Clipstone.
He said: “The Staveley job is the one I wanted (after being inundated with offers).
“After taking everything about the role into consideration, including the facilities and infrastructure at Inkersall Road, which are unrivalled at step 5, it is a no-brainer.
“Combine all of that with the development and junior teams the club already has in place, along with the future ground improvement plans and it was a very easy decision to make.”
Marshall met the existing players, staff and management tonight (Tuesday night).

“Brett’s more recent success as Chairman of a NCEL Division One title winning club and also as manager of a NCEL Premiership title winning club, provides him with an overall CV in the NCEL that is second to none.”
