Harrogate Railway’s longest serving player Dan Thirkell has committed himself to a 11th season at Station View.

Thirkell was a target for Billy Miller’s Tadcaster Albion, but he has chosen to stay and be part of Lee Ashforth’s new era.

Versatile Thirkell was the supporters’ and manager’s player of the year in Railway’s record-breaking campaign which saw them finish eighth in the Evo Stik Division One North.

Ashforth, though, has lost two players – winger Adam Baker and right-back Jordan Armstrong.

The pair, who were key players in Railway’s season, are expected to head to Tadcaster.

Former Leeds United defender Matt Heath is currently the only player to officially follow Miller to Tadcaster.
