The injury list at Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side Barton Town Old Boys has grown even longer.

Dave Anderson admits it is his hardest point in his time at the helm of Barton as key players such as Louis Kirk, Brad Ricketts, Scott Phillips and Danny Chambers are on the side-lines.

Barton are nearly in crisis because of the problems and Anderson said: “Things go from bad to worse as Danny Chambers is now added to the long list of injuries.

“Danny failed a fitness test before the Pickering game with a groin problem which needs looking at by a specialist to diagnose the problem which will keep him out for a minimum of six to eight weeks.

“It left us without a recognised striker for the Pickering game and only six players available of the squad that started the season. Scott Phillips is still six weeks away (achilles) despite having his pot removed.

“Brad Ricketts has also had his pot removed (fractured leg), but is still four weeks away whilst Louis Kirk is still waiting on a scan on his knee which is still not possible due to the amount of fluid on the knee.

“The long term injury please the unavailability of Gareth Owen (suspension), Gareth Barlow (work) has put a real stretch on the squad which is now down to the bare bones.

“This is the most difficult part of my tenure at Barton and a real test for us and the squad of players.

“It is going to be a real challenge but something I am confident that we can eventually get through.”
