‘Sedge’s wait goes on, but Tad are back

Tadcaster Albion are set to host their first home game in over 70 days, but the wait goes on for their opponents Liversedge.

‘Sedge are in relegation trouble at the foot of the table, but the club are more concerned with the fact they haven’t played at home for over 100 days. The situation is now becoming financially crippling for them as there has been no income for the past few pasts.

Manager Jonathan Rimmington told Radio Yorkshire earlier this week: “(How I’m feeling is) Frustration more than anything

“The players want to play and we haven’t gained any momentum from bringing all these new lads in.

“Like I’ve said to a few people, we have lost players to West Yorkshire League clubs because we haven’t been able to play at home.

“I go up to the pitch daily and you take a photo of it and it looks immaculate. But underfoot it is quite dangerous in certain parts.

“Last week when we were meant to be playing Cleethorpes on a Tuesday night and we approached another West Yorkshire club to play at their ground.

“When it came down financially, they wanted money for playing there. The referee and linesmen are very expensive in this league. We’re not going to make anything on the food or bar because the club hosting us gets that.

“It would probably cost us all-in-all £500 to just stage the game and at this moment in time, the club just has not got that.

“It is a fantastic club and so are the people, but money is a massive issue now.”
