Champions Tadcaster Albion celebrated lifting the league trophy in style after a spectacular comeback against Athersley Rec.

Tadcaster trailed 3-0 at half-time to Athersley, who are now officially safe despite losing. Carl Stewart, Conor Sellars started the second half fight-back before Jimmy Beadle and George Conway sealed a dramatic finish.

Athersley, whose joint manager Jason Dodsworth stepped down after the game, stormed ahead with headers from Danny Cawley and Kai Hancock in the first ten minutes.

Macauley Shillito added the third on the stroke of half-time.

Stewart provided a route back for Tadcaster as he volleyed Sellars’ cross home. Sellars then got on the score-sheet himself after firing through a crowd of players.

Beadle levelled it with a header as time was running out before an unbelievable climax which saw Conway got the credit.
