Pontefract Collieries are heading back to Division One after just one season back in the NCEL top flight.

Armthorpe Welfare breathed a sigh of relief as Handsworth Parramore recovered from going a goal down to end their spectacular season in style. Kieran Wells (2) and Jon Froggatt were on the score-sheet and they are likely to share the Premier Division’s top goal-scorer position with 40 goals each.

Pontefract simply had to win to stay up. Kane Reece gave them real hope with his 24th minute opener, but their dreams of avoiding relegation soon faded as Wells equalised.

Two quick-fire second half goals from Wells and Simon Harrison pushed Parramore further in front. Alex Rippon, Harrison and Froggatt completed the victory late-on.

Liversedge 2-1 Retford United

Joe Walton rounded off Liversedge’s remarkable second half of the season by scoring the last minute at Retford.

The win stole 14th place off Retford. Robert Thomas had earlier cancelled Bradley Johnston’s early opener for Retford.

Pickering Town 4-2 Rainworth Miners Welfare

Pickering’s solid campaign ended on a high after four first half goals downed Rainworth.

Pickering, who finish in sixth, got their goals through Ged Dalton (2), Sam Calvert and Matty Turnbull.
