It was a double celebration for record breaker Ash Flynn at the Toolstation NCEL presentation night in Scarborough.

The AFC Emley striker successfully proposed to his girlfriend Georgie Sallis, shortly before collecting his special achievement award for scoring 73 goals last season.

Over 250 people attended the evening bash at the Royal Hotel to see the likes of Premier Division champions Tadcaster Albion and Division One title winners Hemsworth Miners Welfare collect their trophies. The pair also won their respective Division’s Fair Play tables.

The league’s Annual General Meeting took place earlier in the day and ended with no hitches. There were no major rule changes and the new clubs Harrogate Railway, Campion and Ollerton Town were welcomed to the league.

The League Cup draw was done for the opening two rounds with Handsworth’s home game with Cleethorpes being the clear match of the round.
