The new stand is in place at Athersley Rec
The stand is up and Athersley Rec have continued a great week by confirming their first set of summer signings.
Sean Margison is now in sole control with Wayne Thompson and Kevan Locke at his side and the trio have recruited Brad Johnston and Sam Bebbington.
Midfielder Johnston has lots of NCEL experience, while winger Bebbington was a regular scorer for Dronfield Town last season.
The Rec are buoyant mood going into their pre-season games. The new stand was erected in the past week after a determined fundraising efforts by supporters and officials yielded the amount needed. Sponsors Premier Engineering, Roofdec, Allen Group and Cemex have also provided support.
The stand will be used for the first time when the Rec host a Barnsley X1 in the prestigious friendly on Wednesday 20th July.
