Albion Sports have reacted to the loss of Marcus Edwards by persuading star striker Danny Facey to return after a season away at Brighouse Town.

Facey was Albion’s talisman for a few seasons until he decided to test himself at Evo Stik level last summer. It is clearly a massive boost for Albion, who start their season with the Emirates FA Cup tie at Harrogate Railway next week.

Albion have also appointed Carl Priestley as Kully Sandhu’s assistant. Priestley previously had success in the Sunday league with Swaine Green and he has also had a brief spell as interim Manager at Thackley.

Priestley said: ”I am pleased to be back at this level again after a taste of things with Thackley.

“I’m really excited now to be working with Kully and help in anyway I can, I can’t wait to get going this season.

“I’ve known Kully and a lot of other people at Albion for the last 6 years now and am grateful of the opportunity given to me”.

Albion are still looking to add two or three experienced players to the squad who have played at NCEL Premier or in the Evo Stik.
