Harrogate Railway ended their pre-season campaign on a high note, and with a much-improved attacking display.

Railway fired their first bullet on the half hour mark, with star striker Chris Ovington shooting low and hard past the Norton goalkeeper from just inside the penalty area.

It took another 30 minutes for the next goal to come. Jordan Hendrie, son of Bradford City legend John, sent a great cross-field ball to Ryan Sharrocks. The winger then cleared the path for a through ball to Dan Barrett, who did the rest.

Norton pulled a goal back after a mistake from Railway goalkeeper Jordan Lofthouse.

It set up a nervy finish, but Railway held on to take a winning mentality into the important season opener with Albion Sports in the Emirates FA Cup next week.

Railway will feel more confident than they did a few weeks as Lee Ashforth has been able to bolster his attack.
