Lee Vigars believes Glasshoughton Welfare should have more points than they have, but he’s very pleased with how the season has started.

That’s because Welfare are on a seven-match unbeaten run, their best period of form since the Craig Elliott glory days.

“We can’t complain because we’re unbeaten in seven, but we have dropped points in games when we should have taken three,” joint manager Vigars told Non League Yorkshire.

“We should have taken three points against Worsbrough, we dropped two points at Nostell, we led against Campion and we couldn’t hold on there.

“We feel that although we’re sitting in the top half we should be a lot higher than we are.

“The club are happy and the lads that were here last year agree that we’re looking a lot stronger.

“We are still a new squad, we’re still bonding and there is still a lot more to come from this squad.

“We weren’t set any targets in the summer, but we have taken giant strides, we know that.”

Glasshoughton visit Dronfield Town for their FA Vase first qualifying round tie tomorrow.
