Shaw Lane AFC defender Dan Wilkinson has sadly passed away
Shaw Lane AFC defender Dan Wilkinson has passed away after collapsing on the pitch at Brighouse Town last night.
Wilkinson collapsed an hour into Shaw Lane’s Integro League Cup tie at Brighouse Town. The physios from both clubs were on the pitch within seconds administering medical care.
An ambulance and two fast response vehicles soon arrived and he was treated on the field for more than 30 minutes before being taken to Calderdale Royal Hospital in Halifax.
It is a heart-breaking day and thoughts go out to his family.
