New leaders Brighouse Town returned to the field for the first time since the tragic passing of Shaw Lane defender Dan Wilkinson.
Two early goals from Luke Parkin and Tom Haigh saw off Hyde on an emotional night at the Dual Seal Stadium.
Parkin struck the first blow by turning Danny Bunch’s cross home from close range in just the seventh minute.
Haigh then took on a handful of Hyde defenders before unleashing an effort from 25-yards, which flew into the net with the help of one of the posts.
