Yorkshire Amateur winger Fernando Moke is now set to appeal against the length of his four-month ban from all football activity.

Moke has had a change of heart about an appeal after watching Spain’s first goal-scorer Iago Aspas physically push an assistant referee in the 65th minute of the recent England friendly at Wembley. Aspas somehow escaped with just a yellow card.

Ammers manager Phil Harding told Non League Yorkshire: “It is unbelievable, how can you justify a four-month ban when an international footballer can do that on live TV and get away with it?

“As I said two weeks ago you can’t touch a ref and Ferdy deserves a ban, but it is hard to take when you see things like that on TV.

“The push on the linesman by the Spanish player was worse than what Ferdy did. The length of the ban is too long.”

Moke received the heavy suspension from the West Riding County FA for making physical contact with the referee of the 2-2 draw with Teversal back in October, seconds after being sent off for a separate offence.

You can view Aspas pushing the assistant referee on the ITV Player HERE, one hour, 36 minutes into the programme.
