Former Ossett Town captain Richard Patterson has signed for Goole AFC in time to face his old club.

The experienced midfielder left Clipstone earlier this week and Goole have been able to persuade him to join their survival bid.

Patterson has had two spells with Ossett, who visit the Victoria Pleasure Grounds. He played under Craig Elliott and John Reed there and was the skipper for a brief period during the former’s reign.

Patterson has also featured for Stocksbridge Park Steels, Staveley Miners Welfare, Parkgate and Thackley.
