Wright confident of securing survival

Worsbrough Bridge manager Josh Wright

Josh Wright believes he now has a squad in place at Worsbrough Bridge which is good enough to pull the club clear of the relegation zone.

Wright, the youngest manager in the NCEL, has 13 games left to secure Bridge’s league survival. Currently Worsbrough are third-bottom, one point ahead of Westella & Willerby.

A number of Evo Stik experienced players have arrived in recent weeks and Wright reckons there is enough quality in the side to stay up.

“I think we have a good chance of staying up, especially when you look at the personnel we have brought in,” Wright told Non League Yorkshire.

“We have brought in Ben Walker and Adam Jones in the last week, both good players. Dom Riordan, the chairman of Ossett Albion, is staying with us to carry on playing.

“We have also welcomed back Joe Singleton. He was outstanding at Nostell (in the 2-2 draw).

“The club would have snapped your hand off a year ago if you said we would have the side we have now. There’s a lot of Evo Stik experienced players who have come in.

“It is just about getting them to gel. I didn’t expect it to happen overnight, but the problem is that there is only 13 games left so there is not a lot of time left.

“But I’m confident with the squad I have got that we’ll turn this round.”

Worsbrough host Shirebrook Town tomorrow.
