Steve Ridley’s spectacular strike against promotion rivals Glossop propelled surprise package Ossett Town up to second.
The big win keeps Ossett hot on the heels of leaders Lancaster City.
Star goalkeeper Leigh Overton also took a lot of the plaudits as he saved a first half penalty from Ben Richards.
Glossop endured more bad luck when Adam Jones had a goal chalked off because of an offside.
The breakthrough for Ossett came seven minutes into the second half and it was a beauty. Veteran Ridley pounced on a half-cleared corner and sent a volley into the right-hand bottom corner.
