Worsbrough Bridge beat Dronfield Town 2-0 in Barnsley to win for the first time in ten games.

The vital victory moves Josh Wright’s side four points clear of second-bottom Westella & Willerby, who are due to face basement side Nostell Miners Welfare tonight.

After losing 9-1 to Hallam in their last outing, Worsbrough needed some response.

New signing Simon Chadburn was a rock for Worsbrough, who were excellent. Kieran Thompson settled the nerves with the opener midway through the first half. Recent signing Jack Mawson sealed the victory late-on.

Glasshoughton Welfare lost 4-1 at Grimsby Borough – Ryan Poskitt got Glasshoughton’s goal.
