Rangers can’t afford any more slip-ups

Dave Ricardo admits Hall Road Rangers cannot afford to slip-up again as the promotion race enters the final month.

Hall Road lost 4-0 to leaders Pontefract Collieries last week, but the Colls have since to Brigg Town which means Rangers could go level on points with them as they have two games-in-hand – a further three points will be added onto their tally because of the Shirebrook abandonment debacle.

However, Ricardo, whose side host Brigg Town tomorrow, is warning against complacency.

“Nothing has changed really, we still the same number of wins, it as simple as that,” Ricardo told Non League Yorkshire.

“It has been a great season regardless what happens. We have Brigg next (tomorrow) and they can be good side one week and not the next.

“We have two home games left, Brigg and Nostell and I said five or six games ago that if we win all our home games that will get promoted and I probably stand by that.

“If we can win on Saturday, we will get our confidence back. But we can’t afford any more slip-ups.”

Ricardo has also confirmed that he plans to add to his Hall Road squad.

“I need to make changes because there is no way we can get promoted with the squad we had at Pontefract, that’s with no disrespect to anyone,” he said.

“I get Connor Harman back from suspension, he’s a big player for us, but we lose Josh Batty to suspension for the next three games.”
