Brave Stocksbridge Park Steels were defeated in the second half of extra-time in their epic play-offs semi-finals at Spalding United.

The defeat brought the curtain on another fantastic season which has also seen the Steels reach the first round of the FA Trophy.

The Steels fought back twice to force the additional 30 minutes, but were ultimately defeated by Jonny Lockie’s 106th strike.

Stocksbridge initally fell behind on the stroke of half-time through a Matthew Varley penalty.

They cancelled that out within two minutes of the second half starting as Richard Stirrup converted Joe Lumsden’s cross.

Spalding regaiend the lead on the hour mark – Lee Beeson netting.

Extra-time was forced by their key man Harrison Biggins who struck home a free kick – unfortunately a dream winner wasn’t to be.

Spalding will visit Witton Albion in the final.
