Worsbrough trio win awards

Toolstation NCEL Division One

Clubman of the year Matty Pinder came on for the last ten minutes for Worsbrough in the final day clash with Pontefract, six months after been struck down by the Guillain Barre Syndrome.

Worsbrough Bridge trio Matt Pinder, Mitchell Wilshire and captain Connor Rollinson were presented with awards at the club’s presentation night.

Young Pinder winning the clubman of the year was fitting. Against many odds, Pinder battled back to play in the final game of the season, months after being diagnosed with the Guillain Barre Syndrome.

Even through his rehabilitation he kept going to matches to support his team-mates.

Worsbrough boss Josh Wright, who guided the club to safety, presented his manager’s player of the year to Wilshire.

Captain Rollinson deservedly collected the prestigious players’ player award. Rollinson showed his commitment to the cause by playing on with wrist, back and knee injuries in the final few games of the season to help the club secure survival.
